Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What can I expect at Pierside Dental Care on my first visit to the office?
New patients will be asked to fill out a medical history form to help us understand any special care you might need. The first appointment will include a comprehensive dental examination, necessary diagnostic X-rays, and a periodontal screening. After your initial exam, Dr. Hart and his team will discuss your dental health with you, explain any needs, and will honestly answer any questions or concerns.

Q: How can you help me if I'm very nervous?
Our goal is to make your visit pleasant and relaxing. Everyone needs TLC, some of us more than others. Our competent team will carefully explain all procedures thoroughly before any treatment is begun. In some cases, pre-treatment medication may be advisable for certain patients who require more care in order to begin their treatment.

Q: How do appointment reservations work and cancellations?
All appointments are reserved exclusively for you! We realize you have busy schedules, so we do our best to see you at your appointed time. If you find you are unable to keep your scheduled reservation, kindly give us 24 hours advanced notice to offer the time to another patient. Thank You!

Q: What about continuous care options at Pierside Dental Care?
We hope you share our belief that regular preventive dental care is important for your overall health. We will provide you with a written reminder when it is time for your next preventive visit. Taking care of your teeth is not expensive: neglecting them can cost you physically, emotionally, and financially.

Q: Are there any financial considerations that I need to be aware of prior to services received from Pierside Dental Care?
Dental insurance is a partial aid for payment of services. We will do our best to help you understand and use your benefits, but realize that we are not a part of your insurance, nor does Dr. Hart work for the insurance companies. You are responsible for any deductible amount or balance not paid by your insurance carrier, and you must supply us with any information necessary to process your claims.

Q: Does Pierside Dental Care accept credit cards for payment of services and when is payment expected?
Fees for services rendered should be cared for at the conclusion of each visit. We do offer attractive savings for accounts paid in full at the time of service. For your convenience, we are pleased to accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express, as well as your personal checks, and cash. Your understanding of these matters is greatly appreciated.

Q: What is Care Credit?
We are proud to offer patients the services of Care Credit, a financial company which can enable patients the financial freedom to receive the care they need and deserve, when they want it, regardless of insurance. The quality of your health care and treatment should not be dictated by your insurance company.
